GOVERNING BODIES

CICS.NOVA is a large research unit, located at NOVA FCSH, and was conceived in 2015 as an open network with multiple scales through the establishment of four regional research poles at the UMinho, UAzores, UÉvora and Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

Besides the main research conducted under the scope of each Research Group, all researchers contribute to the building of regional strategies, aiming at the reconfiguration of regional maps through the development of research contracts with regional and local government bodies and civil society institutions.

The design of our Research Groups and Thematic Lines is made with the objective of cross-cutting classical research fields borders, thus enhancing cooperation between researchers. This strategy of multiple dimensional articulation implies a very careful conception to guarantee an efficient management.
