Cecília Delgado is a Portuguese Post-doctoral, Urban Planner and Architect with extensive experience as a university lecturer. Currently, she is an integrated researcher at CICS.NOVA, Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, working on public policies, food policies, land use planning, urban and peri-urban agriculture, food systems for local development and participatory methods. She is also a member of European Cost Program "Implementing nature based solutions for creating a resourceful circular city" (2018-2020), and of CONSAN – CPLP (since 2018), and an expert volunter at QUERCUS (since 2016).

Main Projects:

  • 2014 - : Researcher project Principal Investigator (P.I.) - The Multi-stakeholder Policy Action Planning as a tool for reconciling sectorial policies. Funded by FCT Post-PhD grant SFRH/BPD/94286/2013;
  • 2012 to 2016: Senior researcher and country representative for Portugal: Cities and Gender European research program (24 countries participating). Funded by the European Cost Action, Gender, Science, Technology and Environment;
  • 2015: Researcher project P.I.: Gender Planning Policies to support community food growing spaces: Generating data to enhance political awareness. Funded by the European Cost Action;
  • 2013 and 2014: Researcher assistant (in collaboration with Prof. Yves Cabannes): Another City is possible!. Funded by the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation – Switzerland;
  • 2011 to 2013: Researcher assistant (in collaboration with Prof. Yves Cabannes): Participatory Budgeting initiatives in Africa. Funded by the UCLGA - United Cities and Local Governments of Africa.
