Cristina L. Duarte (Lisbon, 29.10.1961) has a PHD in Sociology (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa), and has defended the thesis «O Género como Espartilho - Moda e Feminismos (Gender as Corset/ Fashion and feminisms» in 2016, October 28 at FCSH/NUniversidade NOVA de Lisboa. Between 2010-2014 she was researcher assistant (Foundation of Science and Technology/FCT). Since 2010,  she is visiting professor of the Master's Clothing and Textile Design of ESART/IPCB (Polytechnic Institut of Castelo Branco, School of Arts), and currently she is teaching in the College of Arts and Design(ESAD Matosinhos), in Oporto. Since 2005, Cristina Duarte is researcher in Gender and Women Studies in Faces of Eva, of CICS.NOVA/Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, being a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Faces of Eva (biannual publication).
