João M. S. Carvalho is an Assistant Professor at Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI), Portugal, and researcher at Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA.UMinho), Research Unit on Business Sciences and Sustainability (UNICES/ISMAI), and Research and Innovation Centre in Education (InED/ESE/IPP). He has a degree in Business Management, a post-graduation in Social Gerontology, a MSc in Economics, and a PhD in Business Sciences. He worked for 15 years at pharmaceutical companies on several management positions. He also has been working in social sector as a researcher and consultant, and he has published several books, book chapters and articles in international scientific journals.


Research Interests:

Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic. Management. Value creation and societal sustainability. Entrepreneurship learning processes. City studies. Children at risk and social response management.
