José Afonso Teixeira (joafteix@fcsh.unl.pt) is a Geographer and Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH (Department of Geography and Regional Planning). He is a member of CICS.NOVA - Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences (Research Group - Socio-Spatial Modeling and Planning). He coordinates the master program in Territorial Management. His research and publication interests are focused on Economic Geography and Regional Planning and Development. He currently develops consultancy work for the Public Administration and private firms, especially in Urban Retail Planning.

Economic and Social Geography; Geography of Commerce and Services; Urban Retail Planning; Regional Planning and Development.
