Sara Encarnação is interested in transdisciplinary science and the integration of new concepts, tools and visions to understand societal problems. She holds a PhD in Geography, but her research activities include different topics and a rich experience by working (and learning) with colleagues from other fields such as physics, mathematics and computer science. She is a true believer in the potential to find new solutions to old (and emergent) problems in new crossings between social sciences (and Geography in particular) and exact sciences.
