Teresa Mora graduated in sociology in 1989 from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE). In 2006, she obtained her PhD in sociology at the University of Minho. She currently teaches Sociology at the Department of Sociology of the University of Minho. She carries out research in the area of Utopian Studies. In the PhD thesis (2006) she distanced herself from a normative view of scientific knowledge based on the assumption of a rupture between the methodical and discursive procedures and those that configure the utopian mode of knowledge. Since 2013, she has oriented the study of the uses and meanings that the term "utopia" assumes in the contemporary western context, both in scientific-social and philosophical productions and in artistic productions. Lately, she has been interested in collaborative practices between art, science and philosophy as well as artistic practices of participation and social intervention.
