2011 - PhD in Culture Studies by the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University, Portugal.

2006 - Master in Communication Sciences, specialization in Cultural Industries, by the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University, Portugal.

1993 - Postgraduate in Communication Sciences by the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University, Portugal.

1986 - Degree in Filosofy by the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, Portugal.

Current professional situation:

Vanda de Sousa is Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais of the Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, Portugal. Has developed during the last 20 years activity as teacher of screenwriting, semiotics, audiovisual languages, as an author and professional screenplay writter, with work for TV (multiple producers and broadcasting stations), filmmaking (with prize for the best adaptation of text to short films for the OFF Producer) or theatre (debuting the main stage of the Trindade Theatre to children's texts, under the Lisbon Capital of Culture 1994). Furtheremore, has developed projects with António Ceveira Pinto under the motto Onde a Arte se encontra com a Tecnologia, with focus to Artf Fest 2017.

Culture Studies. Film Studies. Semiotics. Transmedia Storytelling. Digital Humanistics.
