1: Social Inequalities and Public Action
Implying social inequality in the private ownership of property, resources and rewards contemporary societies, namely the Portuguese, are imbricated by various types of social inequalities. Facing the various classical perspectives and recent contributions on this subject, this RG assumes that the concept of inequality holds analytical priority on social exclusion, considering three levels of analysis: the socio-structural, organizational and interactive. This includes a renewal of theories and methods, a plural and synthetic orientation, overcoming the structuralist and (inter) social action perspectives.
