8th Doctoral Conference/11th Winter School of Technology Assessment. The 8th Doctoral Conference and 11th Winter School in Technology Assessment took place between 19 and 20 April, 2021. The conference featured presentations of papers by PhD students, as well as interventions by CICS.NOVA researchers, such as Helena Serra, Nuno Boavida and António Brandão Moniz.

Tearing down the Statues - Alix Didier Sarrouy gives a class at the eco-school Viverde. The tearing down of the statues was the theme of the class in which the CICS.NOVA researcher Alix Didier Sarrouy was invited to participate. Organized by Rafael Dias from Escola Viverde (São Paulo, Brazil) this class sought to reflect on the toppling of statues following the death of George Floyd.

[Inter]views: Design, Data Collection and Analysis of Interviews in Social Research Contexts. This course, part of UÉvora Summer School 2020 will be promoted by Rosalina Costa, researcher at CICS.NOVA.UÉvora, and will take place from 6 to 10 July. It aims to provide the learning of theoretical and practical foundations underpinning the design, application, treatment, analysis and interpretation of data through interviews in the context of scientific research in general and qualitative in particular.

Urban Studies Open Days. On 3 and 4 July, the Doctorate in Urban Studies hosted by FCSH-NOVA and ISCTE-IUL offers a space for its PhD students to debate. This open day aims to promote the doctorate and counts with the participation of researchers from CICS.NOVA.

Cláudia Urbano, integrated researcher at CICS.NOVA, promoted the internship « O consumo de álcool pelos jovens - uma abordagem sociológica», from July 2 to July 7 2018, within the framework of the Ciência Viva Short Placements in Laboratories. This program is promoted by research institutions and Ciência Viva, offering high school students the opportunity to get involved in research teams in science and technology institutions, during their Summer holidays.
The program has been running since 1997 and has been attended by more than 15,000 students.
CICS.NOVA.UÉVORA promoted the internship «Roadshow da Sociologia, Ciência e Profissão na Intervenção Social», between 11 and 22 July 2016, within the framework of the Ciência Viva Short Placements in Laboratories. This internship was coordinated by Carlos Alberto da Silva, integrated researcher at CICS.NOVA.UÉvora, and promoted by research institutions and Ciência Viva.
